This workshop will take place in the Oakland California dye studio of A Verb For Keeping Warm.
Workshops begin at 10am and finish at 5pm.
Dyeing yarn presents its own set of problems and requires particular handling. This workshop will focus on how to prepare yarns for dyeing, how to dye them carefully, and how to post-treat them so that they emerge from the process untangled and ready to use.
Participants will use the indigo vats set up in previous workshops, and will come away with a working knowledge of how to prepare, dye and post-treat yarns so that the colour is even, and the yarn is ready to work with.
Techniques will be demonstrated; participants should bring their own clean yarn to dye with (please no greasy wool). Details will be sent out.
These workshops depend on getting enough participants to go ahead. They are not refundable but are transferrable if you cannot make it.
